PROGRAMS

Spiritual Direction

Spiritual direction is a dynamic process that helps us grow in our spiritual path.  The guidance provided helps the person in direction to become more open to the promptings of the Spirit in the ordinary events of their lives. Spiritual direction invites us to grow, calls us to transformation, and facilitates a deeper relationship with God and others. Sessions are available by appointment and are a free service for UVic students. Email the Rev. Ruth Dantzer, Anglican chaplain and certified spiritual director for more information.

Laughter Meditation is facilitated by Gene Furbee, who has been teaching Laughter Yoga in the area for over 10 years.

Footsteps of Jesus: A Pilgrimage to Jerusalem

September 25, October 16, November 27 - 7:00pm
UVic Interfaith Chapel, Celebration Hall

Anglican Campus Spirituality will be making a pilgrimage to Jerusalem April 25-May 9, 2020. These monthly sessions are for those students interested in coming with us.

Pilgrimage is an age-old practice, found in all the world’s religious traditions, that is used as a tool to deepen one’s relationship with God. Pilgrims set out on the journey with a certain intention and often come out transformed.

During each session, time is devoted to building community, planning logistics, and fundraising for the upcoming trip to Jerusalem.  We will also explore topics related to pilgrimage that will provide tools to enable the pilgrim to enter fully into the experience in Jerusalem.

In 2019 a group of students walked the Camino. The stories of that journey can be found in the October 2019 issue of the Docesan Post. Below is the video of that adventure.

Exploring the Way of the Heart: An Interspiritual Conversation\Matthew Wright Public Event

Monday, September 23 7:00pm
UVic Interfaith Chapel, Celebration Hall
Entry by donation

Our great spiritual traditions have often described the heart as an organ of spiritual perception — an "eye" by which we see from oneness. The heart reads reality from wholeness and relationship, opening us to a world of beauty, tenderness and love. How do we awaken the heart? Join us for an interspiritual conversation as we explore the path of the heart through three primary doorways: the teachings of Sufi, Christian and Hindu mystics.

This event is led by Matthew Wright and sponsored by The Contemplative Society.
